Michael here,

Centrifuge has been absolutely amazing this year!  It’s beautiful here, and I am constantly reminded of God’s creativity when I look at the mountains! Honestly the only thing that hasn’t been great is the food! Why is it that Camp food is always disgusting?!?!?

Yesterday morning I had the unique opportunity to sit down with Ben Stuart in the lobby of the Worship Center and ask him a few questions. I asked him two main questions. First, what was his goal for the week at camp. Basically, what did he want to get across to the students throughout the week through the worship time. The second questions, was what can our parents and church family do to encourage and support our students when they come back from camp. He started talking and I stopped him. What he was saying was just too good not to share with you straight from him. So, being the tech nerd that I am, I pulled out my iphone and recorded the conversation in my voice memo app.  I initially wanted either Ben or Todd Agnew, our worship leader, to do a guest blog post, but I think actually hearing what Ben has to say is so much better.

To the right is the audio file of our conversation.

I apologize in advance for the weed eater in the

background. I caught up with Ben in the lobby of

the worship center so there is some echo and

they were doing yard work outside! It was a good

conversation and I hope that you can catch a

glimpse of what our students and adults have been

learning this week at camp!

You can also check out the entire series that Ben has

been preaching here at camp via itunes. Just click on

the link here. The correct podcasts are labeled

Session I, II, III, IV, and V.

I myself have been very challenged by the messages from Ben, but also the worship from Todd Agnew and his band. It has been such a refreshing time to be in a beautiful place, that you can’t help but to be reminded of God’s awesome creation, to study God’s word, draw near to Him, and to have a freedom in worship.  One of the invitation songs last night was a song by Charlie Hall. The lyrics are as follows:

Single Minded, whole hearted One thing I ask

That I may gaze upon your beauty oh Lord
That I may seek your holy face
That I may know you in an intimate way
And follow after you all of my days
And follow after you all of my days

All of life it comes down to just one thing
And that's to know you, oh Jesus, and make you known

As Christians this should be our only Goal in life. To be single minded, whole heartedly asking God if we can gaze upon His beauty, to seek His Holy face, to know Him in an intimate way and follow after Him all of our days! It really does come down to that one thing, to KNOW HIM, and MAKE HIM KNOWN.  I know for me I let a lot of things distract me from this one thing. It is a daily, constant process to draw near to God. We never retire from that. As a Christian it has to be a constant. This week Ben and Todd has challenged us at camp to be reminded of that ONE THING. I ask you as a church to embrace that as well. As we worship on Sundays, as we strive to reach our community, we need to KNOW Jesus, and MAKE HIM KNOWN. That is our job description.
